KID-FRIENDLY DESTINATIONS INDIA SPECIAL

It’s Family Time
Holidays that spell fun, excitement and surprises for the entire family

KID Z0NE AHOY!
Make this winter fun, interactive, full of nature trails and outdoor explorations that help widen the imagination of your kids. Trail through tea estatesspice or vegetable plantations which are sure to bring them closer to nature. Our country is full of adventurous history illustrated through beautiful monuments from an era gone by. Here are a few ideas to get you started on the planning process of a short and sweet holiday. There’s one thing we assure you, your kids are bound to love the idea of an impromptu holiday!
A RELAXED AND FUN-FILLED GETAWAY
If your child is stuck with indoor games or seeks amusement from electronic devices, a holiday is perfect to allow that much needed break. Pick a destination which offers stay options with children’s activities. You can opt for a stay in a tree house which will leave your child fascinated and give him enough scope to explore. Retreats that pack in zip line adventures, nature trails, bird watching expeditions should be your preferred choice. To further add value you can pick a destination which is high on a certain art form. Your child can try his hand at folk India art such as Warli or Madhubani during a workshop. Since some properties grow vegetables that they use, you can acquaint your child with cultivation processes. To get more out of your visit, you can club a museum visit to make sure your child is learning a thing or two.

Top themes for a family getaway
This vacay, let exploration take centre stage as your kids visit national parks and enjoy picnics

WILDLIFE FUN: Jungle safaris in National Parks aren’t always about the kids. Adults can have just as much fun!

FAMILY FIRST: For your next holiday, ditch a stay at a fancy resort and get back to the basics by visiting an organic farm stay. This help cultivate interest amongst children about how food grows, nutrition and ecofriendly practices.

PICNICKING WITH THE EXTENDED FAMILY: Don’t forget to include your parents as you plan a quick getaway. Head to Khajjiar, a hill station in Himachal Pradesh which bears a very striking resemblance to Switzerland’s topography.

HISTORIC VIBE: You can start with Delhi; the capital is wrapped in heritage, which makes it perfect to get you started on the history of our country. Club your visit to Delhi with Agra and Jaipur which make up the Golden Triangle. Besides, you can add a couple of cities in Rajasthan too. The unparalleled ethnicity of the state makes it a desirable holiday spot. (Pic: Spend a day at the lawns of Humayun’s Tomb in Delhi).

BARBECUE FUN: Instead of jotting down activities to keep your kids occupied, how about you try some outdoor activities like camping? The season is just right and don’t children just love the outdoors anyway? Ask them to assist you while setting up a tent or involve them in meal preps. To get started, teach them to barbecue marshmallows, which they will love binging on.

GREEN THUMB: It’s always a good time to visit a misty hill station. Coorg and Munnar, one of the few popular hill stations allows you to stay at a tea or coffee estate. At these lush estates, you stand a chance to witness complete journey of coffee- from the seed to mug. If gaining in-depth knowledge of coffee cultivation interests you, head to Madenadu Village in Coorg. Furthermore, you can also add a spice or vegetable plantation to the package. Koviloor Village in Kerala is renowned for its vegetable plantations which are perfect for a winter visit.
