E-COMMERCE SPECIAL.... SMALL RETAILERS MAKE IT BIG

SMALL RETAILERS MAKE IT BIG

E-COMMERCE HAS HELPED MANY SMALL RETAILERS TO EXPAND THEIR BUSINESS AND REACH WORLDWIDE CUSTOMERS

Online shopping is the most preferred way to shop for youngsters today, and it is here to stay. From garments to jewellery, electronic items to household accessories, and from books to medicines, one can buy a wide range of products with a single click not just from different parts of India but abroad as well. E-commerce has truly revolutionised the way retailers conduct business. If there is one segment that is benefitting the most from it, it is the small-scale retailers.
Earlier, the manufacturers from small towns of India didn't get much chance to move out of their small geographical areas. Though they used to visit cities to sell or display their goods, it involved additional expenses. However, today the situation has changed drastically. The digital medium has helped these retailers reach out to worldwide customers at a nominal cost.
Considering the increasing number of internet users in India, the future of smallscale retailers seems to be bright. Every future client is within reach and can be accessed using simple surfing mechanism and realistic payment options. The biggest advantage of ecommerce is that it involves low marketing and infrastructure cost. One doesn't have to spend much on advertising and marketing. The small manufactures only have to focus and spend money on quality of the product and services they offer.
With the help of e-commerce, a product which always existed in the urban markets is now shipped to hinterland as well. This medium provides great opportunity to small retailers to grow their business, and serves as a platform to boost their brand awareness in the market. The medium has also helped these retailers to increase their business revenue. As one's customer base increases, it directly impacts the sales figure and eventually boosts the revenue.
Furthermore, several ecommerce companies have been enticing small entrepreneurs by offering schemes to bring their products and services online. They are even promoting them on their portal under various segments. Some giants are even rewarding the entrepreneurs with cash and quick revenue so that they can increase the production to meet the demands.
