Six gadgets that should be in your bucket list for next year
We love
interesting gadgets, but not all tech marvels make their way to our lives as
fast as we expect. Here are some innovations that are coming our way to improve
our lives
Samsung S-Ray
One of the latest spin-offs from Samsung Electronics’ C-Lab, the
S-Ray (Sound Ray) is a portable directional speaker. Unlike conventional
speakers which spread out the sound in all directions, S-Ray sends the sound
directly forward so only the people in the right direction can hear it. It runs
on lower power without impacting volume or sound quality.
Cleansebot
Calling itself the world’s first bacteria-killing robot, this
little device is a must-have if you travel frequently. When you check into
hotels, CleanseBot can sanitise your room and prevent the spread of airborne
viruses. It has 18 built-in sensors and uses four UV-C lamps to blast away 99
per cent of germs and bacteria on any surface. Cleansebot is presently raising
funds on Kickstarter.
Sensorwake Trio
If you hate the alarm clock, let your favourite smell wake you
up. The Sensorwake Trio is a smell-based alarm clock that promises to wake you
up happier and motivated. It uses silent, oil-free dry diffusion technology and
lets you choose from a wide variety of aromas, like coffee, the beach, forest,
or peppermint.
UBTECH Cruzr
This cloud-based humanoid robot is just what you need to assist
you with a variety of office and domestic chores. Cruzr has flexible arms
capable of shaking hands. It moves like humans, uses real-time mapping to avoid
obstacles and identifies faces in milliseconds. It can be used for video
surveillance, video conferencing, intelligent customer service and more.
Vuzix Blade augmented reality smart glasses
Shades are passé. Gift yourself the world’s first augmented
reality smart glasses and see overlaid information — indoors or out — like
mapping directions, restaurant menus, weather information, alerts and more
without picking up a second screen. It can also be your workplace essential for
delivering handsfree, mobile computing requirements.
Omron HeartGuide
This breakthrough innovation in personal heart health tech made
news earlier this year. Now the smartwatch with medical-grade blood pressure
tracking is ready to adorn your wrist. The wearable has an inflatable cuff
built into the watch band. It uses oscillometric measurement — the inflation of
cuff to measure systolic and diastolic pressure — to measure (FDA recognised)
blood pressure automatically.
