The hits keep on coming
November is a
blockbuster month for game releases, with plenty of big names coming your way
Call of Duty:
WW2
November 3 PC, PS4, Xbox One
As the name suggests, this year's Call of Duty will be
travelling back in time to World War II. Ditching jump packs and futuristic
weapons for some old-school `boots on the ground' gameplay, COD: WW2 will
relive the horrors of World War II through two American soldiers.Besides the
single-player campaign, you'll be able to indulge in everyone's favourite
co-operative Nazi Zombies mode along with Call of Duty's staple multiplayer
component.
Sonic Forces
November 3 PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch
When you hear the term `platformer', it's tough to not conjure
up images of Sega's blue supersonic hedgehog. This year sees Sonic on
current-gen consoles a second time, this one with a game that blends new and
oldschool Sonic gameplay. While playing as modern Sonic, Sonic Forces will play
like a conventional third-person action game, while it will switch to the more
classic two-dimensional perspective when you gain control of Classic Sonic.
Need for Speed
Payback
November 10 PC, PS4, Xbox One
After a gap of nearly two years, developer Ghost Games is back
with this year's Need for Speed Payback. Payback seems to have borrowed from
various games and movies to create a racing game that's high on set pieces and
action. You have the open world of Forza Horizon 3 mixed with the vehicular
carnage of the Burnout series, sprinkled with the moment-to-moment high octane
action from the Fast and the Furious movie series. What could possibly go wrong?
Football
Manager 2018
November 10 PC
While the Football Manager series may not be as popular as EA's
FIFA series, it has still managed to carve a name its themselves in the
simulationmanagement market. In Football Manager, you do everything expect
playing the actual game, right from managing teams, players, and your budget.
You also decide which players to hire and which to cut.Football Manager 2018
also boasts of a new gameplay engine, which makes for better visuals across the
board.
L.A. Noire
November 14 PS4, Xbox One, Switch
L.A. Noire is all set to return to current-gen consoles this
month with improved visuals, better lighting effects as well as 4k resolution
support for the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.For those who never played the game,
L.A. Noire is a crime thriller that takes place in Los Angeles during the
1940s, and you stepped into the boots of a detective who had to solve a spate
of grisly murders during that time period, making use of the games impressive
facial animation effects.
Star Wars:
Battlefront 2
November 17 PC, PS4, Xbox One
Star Wars: Battlefront was low on content at launch, but since
it performed well at sales, it was only a matter of time before we got another
sequel from EA and DICE. Battlefront 2 will pack a full-fledged singleplayer
campaign, where you'll play as an Imperial soldier avenging the fall of the
Empire. You'll also have all the multiplayer modes fans loved from the first
game. Plus, all the post-launch DLC will be free this time around.
Lego Marvel
Super Heroes 2
November 14 PC, PS4, Xbox One
Lego tie-ins for popular franchises is a strategy that has
worked wonders for WB Games. And if you're a Marvel fan, you'll definitely want
to keep an eye out for Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2, an action-adventure game
that allows players to control characters from Marvel's extensive roster. And
since Lego games are extremely accessible, they can be enjoyed by the younger
gamers in the family in co-op.
