HEALTH SPECIAL..... BE STRONG AND STAY BEAUTIFUL

 BE STRONG AND STAY BEAUTIFUL

Calcium plays a major role in providing firmness and elasticity to the skin as well as all the tissues and cells of the body

Did you know that calcium keeps you looking young and beautiful?

Here’s how. Like many women, you may know that the minimum daily calcium requirement is 1,000 milligrams (mg) for women of 50 and younger and 1,200 mg for women over 50. Adequate calcium is necessary for good health, and not just because it’s a major component of our bones. It also plays a vital role in keeping our organs and skeletal muscles working properly. The body gets the calcium it needs for basic functions by releasing the calcium stored in our bones into the blood through bone remodelling – the process by which bone is constantly broken down and rebuilt. If your body doesn’t get enough calcium, it takes it from your bones making them weak and putting you at risk for osteoporosis. Signs that you could be calcium deficient include numbness, tingling fingers, muscle cramps, lethargy, poor appetite, weak or brittle fingernails, dry skin and a lot more.
Calcium plays a major role in providing firmness and elasticity to the skin as well as all the tissues and cells of the body – helping you stay strong and look beautiful. Calcium rich foods can also deter acne. Some studies suggest that calcium, may have benefits beyond bone health: perhaps protecting against cancer, diabetes and high blood pressure. In a report in Harvard Health Publishing titled Harvard Women’s
Health Watch, Dr Walter Willett, Chair of the Department of Nutrition at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health says, “One thing the studies have taught us is that calcium is essential in building bone. You can probably get all or most of your calcium from food, especially if you have a serving or two of dairy products daily. If you can’t tolerate dairy, you should still be able to get 300 mg a day in your diet and can take a low-dose calcium supplement to make up the rest. By keeping your supplement consumption to 500 mg or less a day, you should avoid the possible risk of heart disease and kidney stones suggested by the studies.” Calcium supplements with 100 per cent natural coral grains can be one of the preferred choices. These have the goodness of more than 70 trace minerals like gold, silver, selenium and helps you with strong bones healthy skin, hair, teeth and nails.
