WOMEN/ APPS SPECIAL.. Tech it forward, mommy

Tech it forward, mommy

Five apps ideal for both stay-at-home moms, and working ones

THE NAME’S ENOUGH
Baby Tracker:
As the name suggests, the app comes with various trackers that ease pressure for new mothers. The app has breastfeeding and baby-feeding trackers, baby sleep tracker, baby diaper tracker, baby care tracker and a section on calendar and notes. It also has a baby diary, where you can have a baby feeding chart, breastfeeding chart and baby sleep and diaper chart. You also have the option of uploading monthly photos of the child to track his or her growth.

DIGITAL SCRAPBOOK
Keepy:
This is a place to keep storing your child’s memorable moments – from the first report card, to movie tickets, drawings, homework, or storytelling sessions with mom and dad. Parents and grandparents have the option of leaving voice and video comments too. This is your family’s digital scrapbook where you get to keep and view all the fond moments of your child’s growing up years. You can keep all the posts private and only added members will get an update on what you share. You can choose to make certain ‘keeps’ public.

TIME MANAGEMENT
Timyo
is short form for ‘Time is My Own’. The app wants you to be in control of when and how to respond to emails rather than be hooked to the phone when you want to spend time with your child. It lets the recipient of the email know when you intend to reply. You can schedule a reply to the email and set a deadline. The app also tells you when a reminder is long pending or if one needs an instant reply. It’s perfect for working mothers juggling new motherhood with the pressures of getting back at the workplace after maternity leave.

FINANCIAL WIZARD
Bank of Mom:
Want to train your kids in finances from an early stage? This app comes in handy as you can teach kids to track their virtual bank accounts and every transaction they make from it. Let them practice deposits and withdrawals and come up with their own virtual spending charts every month. It teaches them the value of money, and what it takes for parents to bring a child up. It comes in handy when kids are on their own on a trip or an outing as it lets you and the kids track their spending. You can also track their TV and video game times through it!
