GADGET GIZMO REVIEW LG G
Pro Lite Dual
When it comes to dual SIM smartphones, there are limited options available from the top players like Samsung, LG, Sony or HTC. LG’s G Pro Lite Dual aims to offer a large display with a great battery life for the mid-range segment.
While the G Pro lite retains the 5.5-inch display size from its elder brother, LG Optimus G Pro, the resolution is a lower 960 x 540 pixels. But thanks to LG’s user interface, icons, text and images appear sharp even on the basic resolution. Build quality of the phone is top-notch with a chrome plated rim and a textured finish on the rear. However, the rear panel has a glossy finish that attracts smudges and fingerprints. Under the bright display are four capacitive buttons — back, home, option and a dedicated SIM switch button. One issue is that these buttons are not backlit — while you should get used to their position in a few days, it is still a hassle to use the phone in low light. A capacitive stylus is also present on the phone with a dedicated slot. We also loved the fact that the phone has an IR port and bundled universal remote app so that you can use it as a remote control.
Even with a dual core processor and 1GB RAM, the day to day performance was superb. User interface is zippy, navigation is smooth and it had no issues playing full HD videos or games like Dead Trigger 2. The 8MP rear camera took good photos and videos in daylight. However, video recording is limited to 720p resolution. One of the most impressive features of the phone is battery life. The 3,140mAh battery lasted easily for two days on an average. While the LG G Pro Lite dual proves to be a great device, it faces steep competition from the Lenovo P780 which offers better features at a lower price. PRICE Rs.22,990/
