GADGET GIZMO REVIEW..............Sony Xperia Z Ultra
At 6.4 inches of screen size and almost 18cms in height, the Sony Xperia Z Ultra is a giant even among these phablets. And yes, it’s quite unwieldy. Onehanded operation is out of the question, and the device causes discomfort when sitting with it in your pocket. It’s supposed to be waterproof, but only if all the ports are shut. And those flaps are flimsy and don’t seal properly.
The screen itself is gorgeous. It’s large, has rich colours and is a pleasure to use for watching videos or playing games. Under the hood, the processor actually does a fantastic job and the Z Ultra was the best performer of all the devices.
But the camera is a letdown as it doesn’t have an LED flash, so shots taken in low light are grainy and out of focus. Besides, photographs in the day don’t have much detail either. The Z Ultra gave us only about 11 hours of battery life on average usage, substandard for a phone that asks for Rs 46,990.
Specifications
The Sony Xperia Z+ features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800
2.2GHz quad-core processor, FullHD 6.4-inch screen, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front
camera, 16GB internal memory, 2GB RAM, upto 64GB via MicroSD, FM radio, GPS
with A-GPS, WiFi-ac, Bluetooth 4.0, Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Proximity sensor
and Compass.
It’s too big for most people and it costs a lot for a phone with a bad camera and subpar battery life. We can’t recommend you buy this one.
