WHAT I LEARNT FROM MY COMPETITOR(24)
“ Showed us Customer
Centricity, Flipkart how to Scale Rapidly“
Radhika Aggarwal, Cofounder, ShopClues
THE LESSON: Learning from
your own mistakes is great advice one can get, but learning from others'
mistakes is even better.Watching competition closely with an intention to learn
is imperative for an organisation but of course incessant obsessing over them
can be detrimental. There is a fine line here.
We at ShopClues take a
point of view that if `they' can do it, then so can we. It gives us a lot of
confidence, and if they have not done it then we will be the first to do it.
For example Amazon showed
us customer centricity as a culture, Flipkart showed us that Indian companies
have what it takes to scale very rapidly, Snapdeal demonstrated organisation
agility, that is, adapting to change rapidly. These are very important
learnings for me personally and for our organisation.
We fight the fight but do
not lose perspective of the core strengths they bring to the table and have
huge respect for them.
