PERSONAL SPECIAL.................... 7 Habits for Getting Really Important Things Done

7 Habits for Getting Really Important Things Done

We've all got important things to get done at work. By applying a simple set of habits, you can consistently achieve every goal you set for yourself.

No matter what your job might be, every one of us has assignments, tasks, or projects that are really, really important to your business. Unfortunately, when we've got something important to do, it can often be difficult to focus on the task at hand and get it done. Instead, we procrastinate, put it off for later, or simply ignore it. This, of course, does not put us on the road to success.
When you've got something really important to get done, then consider giving the following 7 habits a try.
1. Break big problems into smaller problems
Large problems can be difficult to solve, and as such, they can sap the motivation from anyone trying to tackle them. A much better strategy is to break large problems into a series of small problems that can be solved much more quickly--building momentum and successes along the way.
2. Tackle the difficult stuff first
In my own experience, I have found that it's best to take on the difficult stuff first and to leave the easy stuff for later. When you take this approach, you will be fresh and alert as you focus on challenging tasks--giving them your very best effort. As you knock the tough stuff off your list, you'll be able to move along quickly as you move on to the easy stuff.
3. Circle back later to finish the easy stuff
Of course, once you knock out the hardest part of whatever it is you are doing, you'll want to circle back and finish off the easy tasks.
4. Get help if you need it
If you need help to complete a really important task, then don't hesitate to enlist the support of others on your team. It's far better to get the task done well and on time than it is to prove to everyone that you can do it all by yourself.
5. Take regular breaks
We all need to take regular breaks after focusing on a difficult challenge for a period of time. At least once every hour, take 5 minutes to get up from your desk and take a walk outside your office--or outside your building.
6. Give yourself a pat on the back
As you accomplish victories along the way to getting something really important done, then take a moment to give yourself a pat on back for your hard work. If you've enlisted others to help, then be sure to thank them for their support.
7. Look ahead to the next challenge
Use the momentum you gain from completing a really important thing to launch you into completing the next really important thing. As the old saying goes, nothing succeeds like success.
