New laptops for versatile computing
The two devices will come with highres display, portable
design and enough power for productivity and play
South Korean tech
giant LG has announced two new additions to its premium Gram lineup — the 17-inch
Gram 17 and the 14-inch Gram 14 2-in-1 convertible — just a few weeks ahead of
2019’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The new devices will be showcased
during the CES next month.
The LG Gram 17, weighing 1.34 kilograms, is
supposedly the lightest 17-inch laptop in the market. The Gram 14 is the first
2-in-1 device in the Gram lineup, making the two devices a good addition to the
company’s ultrathin Gram lineup.
The powerhouse
The LG Gram 17 features a 17-inch high-resolution
WQXGA (2560x1600 pixels) screen with 16:10 aspect ratio and it complies with US
military MIL-STD-810G durability standard for shock, dust and extreme
temperatures.
The Gram 17 is powered by an 8th generation Intel
Core i7 processor with up to 16GB DDR4 RAM and up to 512GB SSD for storage. It
sports a Thunderbolt 3 port, allowing users to charge the device, transfer
files and display content via a single port. Additional features on the device
include DTS Headphone X surround sound support and a fingerprint sensor for
improved security.
The convertible
Coming to the LG Gram 14 2-in-1 convertible, it
features a 14-inch full HD (1920x1080 pixels) IPS LCD display with an aspect
ratio of 16:9 and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Like the Gram 17, the
Gram 14 also complies with MIL-STD-810G standard for durability. It is powered
by an 8th generation Intel Core i7 processor with Intel UHD Graphics, up to 8GB
RAM and a 256GB SSD. It is powered by a 72Wh battery.
