A super-slim television with future-proof features
This super
thin 77-inch OLED TV costs more than some college degrees in the US
South
Korean electronics giant LG has announced the price for the 77-inch version of
its Signature Series W7 OLED. And, it costs more than the average tuition fee
for a four year college in the US -which, according to CollegeBoard.com, is
around $9,650.
Buying
one of these bad boys for your bachelor pad will cost you $19,999. So far the
television was only available in 65 inches version but, now you are free to
blow your kid's college tuition on the humongous 77-inch iteration of the TV.
You might
be wondering why in the world a television costs more than a car, or a down
payment on a house. The answer is the television is gorgeous at least the
65-inch LG OLED65W7 was.
The TV is
less than 0.2 inches (2.75mm) thick all the way through, supports four kinds of
HDR and has individually lit pixels that allow for deep perceivable black
levels of less than 16 nits. It is one of the best TVs of 2017 -from the front
or from the side, every seat in the television room gets a clear picture
without washed-out tones.
The W7
uses a 4.2.X Dolby Atmos soundbar while the other two use smaller 10-watt
built-in speakers. It makes a big difference in terms of sound performance.
From the front or from the side, every seat in the TV room gets a clear,
vibrant picture without washed-out tones.
Unlike
some other 4K televisions, the television supports Dolby Vision as well as the
new backward-compatible HLG HDR standard so viewers get more options for
premium content.
