SECRET GARDENS - FIVE FARM-TO-TABLE RESTAURANTS

Here are restaurants in the US that are inspired by the slow food revolution and have adopted the concept of using local produce

Bringing the slow food revolution to America, activist-chef Alice Waters has made restaurateurs realise the benefits of local produce. Eateries like the French Laundry in Yountville, California, have been a slow-food mecca for years. And now, several other finedining establishments in the US are following its lead and have taken to the farm-to-table model.
Here are five restaurants that are building their own herb and vegetable gardens to use fresh produce in their kitchen.

1 Trellis Restaurant, Kirkland, Washington
Guests dining on Brook Trout with grilled . broccolini and oven-dried tomatoes at Trellis restaurant have enjoyed the eatery's locally grown produce. The Kirkland restaurant that owns a 10-acre farm in Woodinville, creates agrarian cuisine, mixing modern cooking techniques and rustic flavours to create innovative dishes.

2 Rosemary's, New York
Rosemary's, an Italian restaurant with a rooftop farm situated in the heart of Greenwich Village was created by Carlos Suarez, the owner of Bobo and Claudette. 3 Uncommon Ground, Chicago

The menu is changed constantly with the seasons.

4 Tupelo Honey Cafe, Asheville, North Carolina
