TRAVEL SPECIAL...It’s a Boy thing!

It’s a Boy thing!

LEH, CHADAR TREK, LADAKH:
Freezing temperatures, snow capped mountains and rugged terrain. Ladakh is an adventurer’s dream destination. The people of Ladakh are an amicable bunch and travelling here alone doesn’t mean experiencing the place by yourself. Make friends with the locals over a plate of momos and steaming chai or swap adventure stories and make plans to trek together to the Lamayuru Gompa, Ladakh’s oldest and biggest monastery or river raft down the Indus. Try: The Chadar winter expedition is not for the faint at heart. Join an ice walk (The name ‘Chadar’ as the snow turns into a sheet) on the Zanskar River with sherpas leading the way over the frozen river route.
ORCHHA, MADHYA PRADESH:
The state of Madhya Pradesh is rich in cultural heritage as its tourism adverts continuously project. History buffs will love travelling to the seasonal island on the banks of the Betwa river where a palace fort stands and is home also to the Raja Mahal and Jahangir Mahal. All  along the banks of the river, one can visit and study this old capital city of Bundelkhand. Orchha invites travellers to experience an ‘India of the Maharajas’ and take in the heritage of the past against the backdrop of hills and flatlands of northern MP.
BHANGARH, ALWAR, RAJASTHAN:
Once upon a time a tantrik turned to dark magic in order for the Bhangarh king’s daughter to fall in love with him. However, she cast off the spell, which backfired and resulted in a big stone crushing the tantrik to death. But before his last breath, the magician cursed the town with death and doom. At least this is one of the many stories associated with the ghost town of Bhangarh in the Alwar district of Rajasthan. The derelict remains of the 16th century town make for one of India’s spookiest destinations. Locals warn tourists to visit the remains only in the day with claims that the spirits rise at sunset to plague those who venture after dark.
