Sony’s head-mounted display has dual OLED HD screens that can provide the experience of playing games or watching movies in 2D or 3D – Sony promises that the effect is similar to sitting 12 feet away from a 150-inch HD screen along with virtual 5.1 surround sound output.

Google’s Project Glass is an enhanced, augmented reality, headmounted display that can be operated with your voice. What makes it different is that it looks just like a pair of normal spectacles unlike other large helmet type head-mounted displays and can also be used by those who already wear spectacles.

These virtual reality goggles offer a 720p HD 3D display with embedded stereo audio. They are battery operated and the ‘brains’ run on Android 4.0 with a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor - Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity is included. It should be available towards Q4 2012.

The Wrap 920AR augmented reality glasses shows you a stereoscopic 3D display with an effect similar to sitting 10 feet away from a 67-inch screen. It can wake you up with a vibrating alert at the appropriate time in your sleep cycle, so that you wake up refreshed. The 3.5mm jack is used to connect with an iOS app where it displays analysis of your fitness routine.

The Pebble smartwatch has an eink display (144 x 168 pixel) and connects to an iPhone or an Android smartphone using Bluetooth. It can then notify you of incoming calls, email and other alerts. It is water and scratch resistant, can be customised with downloadable watch faces and more functions can be added with apps.
