Experience Southern California Like Never Before
Rannvijay Singha
and his brother Harman share highlights of their adrenaline-packed California
holiday
As a state, California packs in a little of everything. From the
scenic coastal drives, to the arid deserts, to towering Sierra Mountains and
large metropolitan cities…you could spend a lifetime exploring this gorgeous
state. Besides, each of its landscape lets you enjoy a unique adventure. A
glimpse of Rannvijay Singha's recent visit to Southern California with his
brother Harman, is perfect to understand why California is a preferred
destination to enjoy an adventurous getaway with your sibling.
Rannvijay and Harman's 6 night
itinerary started with the glamorous Santa Monica, a beach city in western Los
Angeles County. The beach-side haven has so much to offer when it comes to
adventure that a single trip is never enough. For the brothers, a surfing
lesson by Poseidon Paddle & Surf helped them try their hand at surfing for
the very first time. After the session, the adventure legend, Rannvijay was so
thrilled; he enthusiastically took to social media to allow his followers a
glimpse into the rush the sport offered. Besides water sports, Santa Monica's
sandy beaches are lined with many attractions; the Original Muscle Beach- a
beachside gym and The Trapeze School are perfect for those fitness enthusiasts
looking for a fun twist. During their stay in Santa Monica, they also spotted
celebrity Arnold Schwarzenegger. This was clearly one of the highlights of
their trip. This confirms the fact that Santa Monica is a favourite stomping
ground for celebrities who flock to the city for its great restaurants,
shopping, beaches and laid back vibe. Do you need any more reasons to visit
this beach haven?
From Santa Monica, Rannvijay and
Harman headed to Big Bear. This scenic destination, merely a two hour drive
away from Santa Monica, is a popular getaway from the chaotic pace of city
life. Nestled in San Bernardino Mountains, Big Bear offers distinctive seasonal
adventure. Snowboarding through the snow-clad slopes dotted with pine, at the
Big Bear Mountain Resort, is one of the adventure sports that lure tourists and
locals alike. Rannvijay and his brother tried their hands at snowboarding and
had a fabulous time. "We hit the slopes and the slopes hit back...what a
super time Harman Singha and I had on the mountain here in Big Bear! ," he
quipped. If you are planning a visit to California during the summer months,
Big Bear should definitely be on your list. The winter landscape transforms
into a lush retreat during the summer months offering a different set of
adventures altogether. You can enjoy a boat tour, rent a canoe or kayak or jet
ski to experience the beauty of the Big Bear Lake. Besides, all these water
sports, the snowshoe trails transform into hiking trails, which attract many
seasoned mountaineers. Another adventure Rannvijay and Harman fondly recall is
the jeep tour with Big Bear Jeep Experience. Showcasing a glimpse of his
experience, Rannvijay shared on his social media, "Went for the Jeep
experience and it was so exciting and thrilling. Off-roading and rock crawling
cannot be missed when you come to Big Bear." These encouraging words by
Rannvijay are enough to try this adventure at Big Bear.
Rannvijay and Harman's itinerary
only got better from here; moving from Big Bear to the balmy Palm Springs,
their days were filled with thrill-packed activities. The cheering while
drifting a BMW at the Performance Centre in Thermal Club- Greater Palm Springs
explains the brothers' love for fast cars. It didn't stop there! A ride along
Eagle Rider's motorcycle in Palm Springs was perfect to have the brothers enjoy
a race across a backdrop of Palm Springs midcentury-modern architecture. At
Palm Springs, a new day brings new adventure. The next day began with a
FootGolf session at Desert Willow Golf Resort, with Roberto Balestrini, Founder
of American FootGolf League and President of FIFG. Rannvijay and Harman hit new
'goals' as they familiarised themselves with the new sport. Thereafter, it was
time for a lesson in geology and history of the region. They picked up their
bikes and headed to Earthquake Canyon. A well- paved path takes you through the
zone between the Colorado and Mojave Desert, winding its way through the narrow
canyon walls of Box Canyon and beyond. According to Rannvijay, this is where
the true spirit of Greater Palm Springs lies.
With the Pacific Ocean and San Diego
Bay at its doorstep, the duo drove down to San Diego, along a two a half hour
long scenic route. En route a pit stop at Ballastpoint Miramar, ensured that
the brothers tickled their taste buds with a variety of beers at the second
largest brewery in San Diego. The next day was reserved to embrace the waters;
it all started with a selfdrive speed boating adventure and ended with a sea
caves kayaking and snorkelling session at La Jolla with Everyday California.
Rannvijay shares "One of the best things to do in San Diego is getting a
speed boat and discovering the city from the sea!" Given the beautiful
coastline and marine life that inhabits these waters, we cannot help but agree!
Another mode of enjoying San Diego's envious coast line is through the Torrey
Pines State Reserve in La Jolla. The well-kept trails that wind along the
cliffs offer envious and breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean.
After all the adventure the
brothers enjoyed together, it was time for some fun-and-frolic. A day out at
Universal Studios, indulging in some Hollywood memorabilia, added the perfect
finishing touch to their adventurepacked holiday.
