FAMILY FIRST - Be
spoilt for choice
There is a plethora
of options in India to appeal to any traveler.
Today, vacations are becoming less to do with getting away and
increasingly about living new experiences. Whether the vacation interests
center on physical activity or interaction with nature, there is a plethora of
options to address a diverse range of objectives.
For instance, a thrill-seeking individual can look forward to
exploring the Thar desert on a camel or horse-back, white-water rafting on
swirling rapids, cruise along rivers, dive or snorkel above coral reefs,
explore game parks, or trek in the high mountains. There are hills to be
climbed, forests to be explored, and lovely tented camps under desert stars and
fairy-tale palaces to dream in. There is something for everyone.
Similarly, for a traveller who prefers to merely laze by the
sea, India has the most diverse varieties of beaches anywhere in the world.
Placid backwaters and lagoons, bays and rough lava-rocked seas, marine
estuaries with fish, crashing surf, powdery golden sand or palm-fringed shores
India has them all. The coastal areas of India have their own seafood cuisine,
relaxing spas, diving and water sports all are great settings for a balmy
holiday . On the other hand, family travel has come a long way: no longer are
mere swimming pools or beaches alone enough for the more active and curious
children of today. The smart generation wants adventure, exotic locales,
wildlife and castles and mysterious forts, too. India provides something for
everyone, including young travellers.
Stunning vistas of mountain ranges, rainforests, lazy canals
with rowing boats, one of the world's largest coastlines mile after mile of
sandy beaches or smooth sand dunes stretching to the horizon; places that
cannot be captured by the best panoramic camera, are all here.
For those who love to marvel at architectural excellence in a
country. The sheer number of noteworthy historical monuments in India is
staggering. With the gigantic size and the different landscapes, where the
monuments have a fabulous canvas. Right from prehistoric cave paintings to
later arts, including the best of Islamic architecture, stunningly intricate
Hindu and Jain temples, hilltop monasteries and white-washed churches of the
Colonial era, India is truly a paradise for an art admirer.
