Work-life balance - Give yourself time to laugh
MANAGING WORK-LIFE BALANCE
I can't claim to have the perfect
work-life balance. I'm constantly juggling my professional and personal
commitments. I can plan my schedule perfectly and prioritise my commitments,
yet it still may not work out. Life takes its own course and throws the
unexpected our way. Having the right support system at work and home helps a
lot. My role model for work-life balance is Indra Nooyi, Pepsi CEO. She said it
best: women really can't have it all. We just try our best because there is no
such thing as work-life balance for women. Planning ahead and hoping the plans
work out is the key to achieving some semblance of work-life balance.
BEING A FIT WOMAN
It's more than having a fit body.
Being happy and having peace of mind is just as important as maintaining a
healthy body. I try to walk regularly and do yoga a couple times a week.
ENERGY HIGH AND HAPPINESS
Happiness is hard to define, and
everyone's measure is different. Accomplishing the goals I set for myself is my
happiness.
RISK-TAKER OR A MICRO-PLANNER
Depending on the situation, I can
take on either role. It's im portant to be able to take risks when the
situation calls for it. On the other hand, being a micro-planner is crucial too
because details matter.
SPIRITUAL DIET
Giving myself time to live, laugh
and love. Do good and do the right thing.
HANDLING FAILURESUCCES
Both failure and success can be
sources of strength. I draw from this strength to keep becoming a better
person. My successes motivates me to raise the bar and my failures keep me
humble.
CRISIS MANAGEMENT
Always stay calm. Evaluate the situa
tion and focus on the core issue, and perhaps, think of a quick fix followed by
a more proactive sustainable solution.
DE-STRESS MANTRA
I love to cook! Cooking is my
therapy. It helps me ger rid of stress. While travelling, I love to pick up
local cookbooks to learn the cuisine and history of the place I'm visiting.
