out to be truly informative too. As you begin your journey from Napier, check out
some world-class Art Deco architecture. The vineyards of Hawke's Bay can easily
be reached from Napier make your own way around by car, book a
chauffeur-driven tour, or opt for a cycle tour. When you are hungry, relish
some local produce at the winery restaurants here. Later, the short drive to
Blenheim takes you across the Wairau Plains past vineyards and wineries. There
are more than 20 wineries within driving distance of Blenheim, and you can also
tour from town (opt for someone else who can do the driving). We suggest you
pick Marlborough region's famous Sauvignon Blanc here.

AUCKLAND TO WELLINGTON VIA ROTORUA

to Wellington via Rotorua. Your journey to Rotorua will take you through a
mixture of farmland, lakeland and forest. Te Kuiti is the only major town on
the way and we suggest you pack along some picnic goodies. If you are in a mood
to walk then explore the beautiful Pureora Forest Park, which is home to
several rare bird species. You can go angling at Lake Whakamaru. As you come
closer to Rotorua, you can see and smell the geothermal steam plumes of
Whakarewarewa. Rotorua sits squarely on the Pacific Ring of Fire, so there's
evidence of volcanic activity around. Move around the phenomenal geothermal
areas and take some time to interact with the Maori people. They are very
friendly.

SOUTH ISLAND ROAD TRIP

How about making the most of an
opportunity to visit two of New Zealand's challenging cycle trails, Dun
Mountain Trail and Old Ghost Road, and it continues to some of the best
mountain bike parks in the country . You can explore activities such as glacier
walks, rafting, or bungy jumping on the way . Begin with renting a car in
Nelson and drive to Lyell in the Buller Gorge (2 hours). From Lyell, ride up an
historic mining trail into the wilderness. After 46 hours you will reach Ghost
Lake Hut. The trail passes through pristine wilderness, so don't forget your
camera. As days roll by, you can move on the Blue Spur Track. Make sure you
finish with the Tunnels Track. You can also explore the West Coast Wilderness
Trail from Kumara to Cowboy Paradise. From the historic town of Hokitika, drive
south down the coast and arrive at Fox township, from here visit the Fox
