GADGET GIZMO REVIEW .................Nokia Lumia 525

GADGET GIZMO REVIEW Nokia Lumia 525
SPECIFICATIONS
4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) IPS display, dual core 1Ghz processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB + microSD, 5MP rear camera, Windows Phone 8, 1,430mAh, 124 grams Value for money, good camera, improved hardware offers better performance Glossy finish, no LED flash for camera, no front camera

One of the biggest complaints with the Nokia Lumia 520 was of low RAM. The 512MB RAM did not allow users to play a number of games and hindered multitasking. With the Lumia 525, Nokia has launched a successor that fixes these complaints.
There is not much difference between the Lumia 520 and 525 in terms of looks. In fact the Lumia 525 has the same dimensions and weight as the Lumia 520. The display is also the same; 4-inch with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels but it now offers super sensitivity mode (use with gloves) and also has the double tap to wake feature. Eagleeyed users will spot that the Lumia 525 has a glossy finish rear panel while the older 520 has a matte finish.
Apart from upgrading the RAM to 1GB, the hardware remains unchanged. You get a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 8GB storage and a 1,430mAh battery. Thanks to the updated RAM we were able to play all the games we tried with a smooth frame rates.
The big difference comes on the software front. The Windows Phone 8 Black OS improves the overall usability and performance and includes a suite of new apps. Most notable is the Nokia Camera app that has a redesigned interface and offers advanced settings. The 5MP camera took great images in daylight but the lack of an LED flash makes it a poor performer in low light. We also think that a front camera should have been included for the price.
With average usage, the phone 's battery does make it through the day — no complaints. If you extend your budget, you can also consider an Android phone like Moto G. If you are restricted by your budget, the Lumia 525 is a great buy for the price.
