FOODIE’S CORNER ....MID-EAST

 MID-EAST

Spectacular dining with aerial views

One common aspect about the many tall towers across the world is the presence of a restaurant that can provide a spectacular view

OBSERVATION DECK 300 AT JUMEIRAH, ABU DHABI
Located on the 74th floor (Tower 2) of the Jumeirah Etihad Towers in Abu Dhabi and provides you with breath-taking views of the capital city’s skyline alongside a 360-degree panoramic vision. The deck offers an exclusive high tea menu, that offers a selection of premium teas and French pastries, I would advise you to book this service one day prior, because the tables are subject to availability, and you would want to relish your cup of tea sitting comfortably. If you’re not a big fan of high tea, the deck also offers light beverages and delicious munchies. Go for a zesty Thai salad; it comes tossed in a sweet chilli and coriander dressing and is delicious.

AT. MOSPHERE AT BURJ KHALIFA, DUBAI
Adventure begins the moment you step into the world’s fastest elevator and even before you have a moment to bask in the marvel of the journey up, the doors open, and you are greeted by the awe-inspiring 360° view of Downtown Dubai and beyond. Located on Level 122 of Burj Khalifa, At.Mosphere is not just a culinary journey; it is an experience of a lifetime. Whether you choose to savour freshly prepared scones and pastries during High Tea at the Lounge or prefer to indulge in the finest meat prepared on the renowned Josper oven at the Restaurant, your time at is envisaged to offer the best in dining. The food is hearty, and is served with the most artistic flair without compromising on the taste with focus being seasonal produce.

360 at CN TOWER, TORONTO
The recipient of several culinary awards, it also offers an impressive wine list of more than 550 international and Canadian wines. Diners at 360 do not have to pay regular admission price and get preferential elevator service to the restaurant which is 553.3metres (1.815 ft.) in height and takes only 55 seconds to reach atop. The view is panoramic and totally unforgettable! The wine cellar was presented with the official Guinness world record of world’s highest wine cellar in November 2006. For starters, the Burrata is voluptuously creamy, kissed by basil pesto and a must try. The lasagne here is the best I have ever had, not overtly cheesy but abounding with flavours Delicious food, set against the gorgeous ambience, with flavours that linger in your mouth — that’s the essence of the menu!

MACAO TOWER IN MACAU
A floor below the bungee jumping balcony, and several floors upstairs of the main observation deck, it is just amazing to see people jump, loving their adrenaline, while appreciating your meal. To whet appetites, chickpeas and home cured cheese salad, or the Mezze platter with Sangria sets the right mood. The pizzas do not disappoint and the basil pesto cream, bell pepper and sun dried tomato pizza is truly outstanding. Wander by the scrumptious food across stations featuring global flavours with local appeal; it sure is one to return for, offering a lot of variety and is delicious to boot!
