Specifications and More
Samsung has launched four new smartphones in India today (21 May)
under the Galaxy A and Galaxy J series. To strengthen its grip in the mid-range
smartphone segment, Samsung has launched the smartphones which includes Galaxy
A6, A6+, Galaxy J6 and J8.

Talking about the price, the A-series duo, A6 is priced at Rs
21,990 for 32GB and Rs 22,990 for 64GB variant. The Galaxy A6+ is available at
Rs 25,990. The handsets will be available from May 22 through Amazon and
offline stores across India.
The new handsets in the J-series are affordable as compared to
the A-series. Galaxy J6 is priced at Rs 13,990 for 32GB variant and Rs 16,490
for 64GB variant. J6 will be available on Flipkart and offline stores from May
22. Samsung Galaxy J8 is priced at Rs 18,990, it will be available for
purchasing from July.
Consumers buying Galaxy A6+ and A6 through ICICI Bank credit
cards or Paytm will get an additional cashback of Rs 3,000. While on purchasing
J6 and J8 ICICI Bank cards or Paytm, will get an additional cashback of Rs
1,500.
Samsung is also offering ‘One time Screen Replacement Offer’ for
purchases till June 20.
Samsung Galaxy A6, Galaxy A6+ Specifications
Both Samsung Galaxy A6 and A6+ run on Android 8.0 Oreo, the
former is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7870 processor and the latter by an
octa-core Snapdragon 450. Both handsets comes with two RAM+Storage
configurations of 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB, the storage in both variants is
expandable up to 256GB through a MicroSD card.
Talking about the display, A6 has a 5.6-inches HD+ (1480x720)
display. On the other hand, A6+ comes with a 6-inches FHD+ (2220x1080). Both
handsets come with Samsung’s super AMOLED Infinity display with 18.5:9 ratio.
Samsung Galaxy A6 and A6+ are backed by 3,000mAh and 3,500mAh
batteries, respectively. These are not the only differences among the two
handsets, they have different cameras too.
A6 sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/1.7 aperture, PDAF,
and LED flash; on the front it has a 16-megapixel selfie snapper with f/1.9
aperture and LED flash. The bigger A6+ features a dual camera setup at the rear
with 16-megapixel+5-megapixel sensors, PDAF, and LED flash. On the front is has
a 24-megapixel selfie camera with LED flash.
Both smartphones have rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and
face-unlock feature. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n,
Bluetooth 4.2, USB 2.0 Type-C, 3.5mm headphone-jack, NFC, and Location.

Galaxy J6 will feature a 5.6-inches HD+ (1480x720) Infinity
display with 18.5:9 ratio. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo and powered by an Exynos
7870 Octa-core processor. The dual-SIM J6 has a 3,000mAh battery.
The handset comes in two RAM+Storage variants of 3GB+32GB and
4GB+64GB, with expandable storage up to 256GB. Talking about the optics, the
smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front camera.
Galaxy J8 features a 6-inches FHD+ (2220x1080) Infinity display
with 18.5:9 ratio. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo and powered by an Exynos 7870
Octa-core processor. The dual-SIM J8 has a 3,500mAh battery.
The handset comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage which
is expandable up to up to 256GB. Galaxy J8 sports a dual camera setup at the
rear with 16-megapixel+5-megapixel sensors, PDAF, and LED flash.
