OFFICE EQUIPMENT SPECIAL.....Super value printers — a start-up’s delight

Super value printers — a start-up’s delight

Buying a printer for the office is no easy task, just ask any office administration. Opting for a cheap printer is never a good idea since you’ll be paying heavily in the long run through frequent cartridge and toner replacements. Office printers are specifically designed for high volume printing, which is what happens typically in an office. Laser printers are the best choice for black and white printing as the toner lasts longer and prints are sharp and clear, which is important when printing reports, financial stats, etc. All-in-one printers are also quite handy around the office as they offer multi-purpose functions like scanning, copying, and even fax. Here are DNA Digital’s top printers for business and enterprises.

Samsung ML-2525W – `10,000
This laser printer from Samsung is a monochrome printer and what it lacks in features, it more than makes up in price and high-quality text and graphics printing. It’s a good upgrade from earlier models and offers higher output, speed and quality. It features wired and wireless printing with Wi-Fi built-in. The printer manages around 23 pages per minute, whether it is text or image heavy Power Point slides. The printer also has a small footprint making it easy to install around the office.

Canon ImageClass MF3010
This multi-function printer from Canon is perfectly suited for small and home offices. It features a printer, copier and scanner in a compact form factor. The laser printer manages an impressive 31 pages per minute with very good continuous output with any breaks or pauses, which is commendable. The Canon does well in text printing, but graphics are a bit average. It makes a good buy if you’re on a budget and need a high-volume printer.

Brother HL-2270DW
The Brother is a workgroup laser monochrome printer that features wired and wireless connectivity options for medium- to large-sized offices. Like all their printers, it’s reliable, easy to set up which makes for quick and speedy deployment. It’s not the best with graphics printing, but text appears sharp and clear without any hint of fuzziness or breaks. The printer manages about 19 pages per minute on average which is not too shabby. It also supports 32MB of internal memory so you can send more documents of the printer at a time which speeds up the printing process.

HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus All-in-one – `20,200
This new Officejet Pro from HP offers professional quality prints for photos and documents as well as a whole bunch of connectivity options to boot. It’s large footprint may be a turn-off for some, but if you have the office space for it, then you’ll appreciate the rich output quality and rapid printing speeds. The inkjet printer also packs in a copier, scanner, and fax capabilities. Features like auto-duplexer, cloud printing and a legal-sized scanning are also present. The printer manages around 13 pages per minute which is not bad for an inkjet printer.

Epson WorkForce 845 – `10,000
Finally, we come to the Epson WorkForce 845 that offer high-print speeds and quality, along with wireless networking features for a very attractive price. Auto-duplexing is also present, along with mobile printing support through Epson’s Connect cloud printing services. You also get a PictBridge compatible USB printing port for direct printing from your camera. This multi-function inkjet printer manages about 12 pages per minute for text printing although graphics and images are a bit slower. It still makes a very good option for home offices and small organisations.
