BUNDI UTSAV
When: December 1-3 Where: Rajasthan
>> Bundi is a picturesque spot in the Hadoti region in Rajasthan. The Bundi Utsav brings it alive with the culture, folklore, traditions and craft of the region. The festival commences with a procession, and features an arts and crafts fair, traditional rural sports, cultural exhibition, and folk/classical music and dance program. There’s even a turban competition. Fireworks cap off the festival.

KONARK DANCE FESTIVAL 2012
When: December 1-
5 Where: Konark, Orissa >> Konark is best known for the majestic Sun temple, which dominates the town. Every year in December it serves as a backdrop to the scintillating Konark Festival, a well-attended event that showcases the different traditional dance forms of India. During the festival, talented dancers and their troupes descend on Konark to display their skill and mastery over age-old dance forms ranging from the classic Bharat Natyam, the graceful Odissi and Manipuri, to the expressive Kathakali and Chau dance styles amongst others. A Crafts Mela is also held alongside the Konark Festival so that visitors can also be exposed to the master craftsmen of the region. On display are sculptures and other handicrafts.


HAGOITA-ICHI
When: December 17-19 Where: Senso-ji Temple, Tokyo
>> Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa is one of the most famous sightseeing spots in Tokyo. The Hagoita-Ichi (Battledore Fair) is an annual fair held in its precincts at the end of the year. Near the Hondo or main hall of Senso-ji Temple, some 50 open-air stalls selling hagoita (battledores), shuttlecocks, kites and other New Year decorations stand huddled together.


FERIA NACIONAL DE PLATA - NATIONAL SILVER FAIR
When: December 3-10 Where: Taxco, Guerrero, Mexico
>> Top craftsmen, artists and silversmiths compete for prizes in this festival which includes concerts, dances, fireworks and a huge range of silver items for sale. The festival showcases the depth and breadth of Taxco’s silver industry.


TEMPE FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS
When: November 30 - December 2 Where: Arizona, USA
>> The Tempe Festival of the Arts attracts nearly 225,000 visitors to the Mill Avenue District over the course of a three-day weekend. Quality artists are fundamental to the success of the event. Artists from all over come to compete in the competitions in various categories. A jury decides on the prize winning entries.
