US
ROUTE 66
It's a route so legendary that celebrated author John Steinbeck named
it The Mother Road in his novel The Grapes of Wrath. This highway built in the
1920s that once served as a main thoroughfare from east to west, still beckons
travellers seeking a classic piece of Americana. The historic Route 66 runs
from Chicago, Illinois to Los Angeles, California and crosses the states of
Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico and Arizona spanning a distance
of more than 2,000 miles. US Route 66, also known as the Will Rogers Highway
and colloquially known as the Main Street of America was one of the original
highways within the US Highway System.
BLUES HIGHWAY
The legendary Blues
Highway, US Route 61, is an unforgettable journey from Nashville, Tennessee to
New Orleans, Louisiana, with music around every corner. From the birthplaces of
celebrated artists and vinyl record shops to recording venues and southern
culinary delights, every stop has a story to tell. We suggest you stop by at
The Ground Zero Blues Club, a cotton warehouse reconstructed as a `juke joint'
where good music is a treat for all. It is co-owned by Oscar-winning actor
Morgan Freeman (a native Mississippian). CRAFT BEER
Head out on the open road
from Montana to Arizona to discover some of the USA's best craft beer paired
with amazing landscapes.
Enjoy distinctive brews filled with local flavour and dramatic desert and mountain scenes peppered with stunning red rock formations.
Craft breweries are smaller in size and are popular with local beer that is a hit with most travellers who like to take a sip when tired.
