An Instagram clone but one that goes one up in terms of interface, ease of use and speed of operation. It offers mainly retro style and old camera effects and weathered frames. Once done, you can easily save or share. Pixlr o-matic is also available online using a web browser, for iOS, on Facebook, as a Chrome web app and as a Windows/Mac download.
Fotolr Photo Studio
Fotolr offers 22 commonly-used photo editing and picture effects, but it also has a portrait makeover feature. It has a built in photo album where you can alter skin colour, remove blemishes, add wigs and add make-up. It also has a built in photo album for your edited photos. Fotolr Photo Studio is also available on iOS — a pro version (without ads) costs US$ 2.99.

Apart from adding zany effects like broken glass, engraving and lego, with Photo Funia you can place yourself into over 150 different scenes — you could see yourself on a billboard, in an art gallery or morphed onto someone else. Photo Funia is a very popular app, available on all platforms — Android, iOS, Windows Phone, Symbian, Palm and BlackBerry. IOS
Aphoto
aPhoto uses a gesture-based user interface for editing and enhancing photographs. It can be used for basic colour and brightness adjustments or to add effects and filters like vignetting, rainbow, white glow, pencil, emboss and lithograph. A useful 'borders' option shows you how the photo would look with photoframes of different shapes. With a simple in-app purchase, you can add the option to write rich text on the images to create photo greeting cards and emails.
Pho.to Lab
Pho.to Lab is great if you want to create fun montages, collages, contact icons or phone wallpapers. It includes over 450 different photo effects, filters and also features intelligent face detection that automatically adjusts and places a person's face onto a montage. Once you're done, the edited image can be stored on the phone or shared directly to various social networks. Pho.to Lab is also available as a free online photo editor and for Android devices.
Adobe Photoshop
Express
Adobe's Photoshop Express allows you to crop, rotate and flip photos, add borders, filters, effects as well as adjust color, saturation and contrast. It also offers an Adobe camera pack for the iPhone (paid for via in-app purchase). The camera pack lets you reduce noise in camera images as well as set a timer. If you choose to create a free photoshop.com account from within the app, Adobe gives you 2GB free cloud storage to store your photos and videos.
WINDOWS PHONE
Photo FX Free
Click a photograph and upload from your album, then you can add effects like vintage, lomo (toy camera) and emo — all in a Metro-like interface with easy swipe-to-apply actions. A Pro version of the same app offers more features for US$ 1.49.
Pony Photo
Pony Photo has all the usual effects that the others offer — image effects like grayscale & sepia, frame and image size adjustments/cropping. But it also includes a GIF creator (stack various still images into an animated GIF) and a collage creator.
BLACKBERRY
Photo Studio
This BBM-connected app lets you apply over 70 different effects to your photos along with basic transformations like crop, resize and rotate. It also has a PicFrame feature that combines multiple images to create a single stylish frame.
PhotoClub Free
Other than applying basic adjustments and adding various effects, PhotoClub Free lets you insert little clipart and frames to your photographs. Once done with editing, the images can be shared via BBM or directky with your social networks.
